Great Drink Recipe
I was at the apartment the other night, thinking I might have the place to myself. So I warmed up some leftovers, changed into my comfy non-sexy robe, popped in a DVD, and decided to make myself a drink. You may have read my previous post about drinking with my friends in honor of my wedding. If not, check it out then come on back.
If you’re too lazy to read it, I’ll get to the point for you. We had a ton of alcohol at our apartment. A lot. A lot. So when I made my drink, I had lots of options to choose from. But I didn’t want a simple drink, so I just started pouring stuff into my drink shaker and didn’t stop until I filled it up.
The drink turned out delicious! It was so tasty that when the fiancé came home earlier than expected, he immediately began sharing my drink, he didn’t even want his own. This drink was the type of drink that you curse yourself after it’s all gone because you don’t remember the proportions of everything that you put in and so you fret that you’ll never have it again.
Am I really writing a whole post about alcohol? Indeed I am. But if you read the title, you know this post also has a recipe. Unfortunately, no part or ounces to be had, but I can tell you what I put in it and if you know anything about mixing drinks, you can figure out a pretty tasty approximation.
For the alcohols, no more than an ounce of any of them. For the sweet mix ins, you want a total of 2 to 1 compared to the alcohol. And go easy on the tonic water; too much will give your drink an odd after taste. Below are the ingredients.
Tonic water (I used Schweppe’s)
Tequila (I used José Cuervo)
Pomegranate vodka (I used Smirnoff)
Rum (I used Bacardi)
Sweet & sour mix
That’s a lot of stuff, but trust me, it tastes delicious. I feel like the best type of drink is one that is strong, but doesn’t taste strong. I filled up one of my Hard Rock Cafe glasses with this and between me and the fiancé, we were good for the night. Just buzzed enough to make some bad decisions. Wink.
What’s your perfect drink?
