Adventures of a Midwest Transplant

About Me

If someone said, “tell me about yourself,” I would have a lot to say. To save you from that, I’ll just excerpt my first blog post, that should do the trick!

I’ve been blogging on blogger for years. Years! I decided in October 2011 to switch over to WordPress.

I’m in my late 20s. I’m a pretty stereotypical Libra. I’m married to a pretty stereotypical Cancer who I call the husband on this blog. He’s a musician and I’m a supervisor at a non-profit that coordinates organ and tissue donoation. We met at a wedding in July 2010 and after a roller coaster courtship, we had a wedding that was way bigger and more fabulous than I intended or thought possible.

Just another Thursday night @ Andy’s

My job is amazing work because I still get to save lives even though I’m not in medical school anymore (long story for another time). If you’re not signed up to be a donor, read up on it, learn more, and sign up!

My friends and family are pretty awesome. They are so much fun and I wish I had more time in my schedule to spend with them.

Some other things about me:

1. The husband and I moved into an apartment in Hyde Park in June 2011 , right after we got engaged, which we never really set up. Now we live in a brownstone in Bed-Stuy in Brooklyn in New York City, which we moved into in July 2013. We’re unpacked, but not entirely settled just yet.

2. We have two crazy-needy-demanding cats full of personality who think they are people. Their names are Belle and Jasmine (Jazz for short). We love them a lot. I hope our co-dependent relationship doesn’t infer what type of parent I’ll be.

That is Belle in my prom dress in our messy ass apartment. Do not ask.

3. I love politics. I would talk about it way more on the blog except no one would read it.

4. I like pretty things. Keep me around pretty people, objects, and sounds if you know what’s good for you.
