Resolutions, Week 10

So here are my resolutions:

1) Cook dinner for the husband at least once a week.

2) Go to some sort of production/media thingee once a month. This can be as extravagant as the opera, or as simple as a movie theater.

3) Exercise an average of 3 times a week. This can be going jogging or yoga.

4) Improve my diet to a point where I’m only eating fried foods once a week.

5) Finish unpacking my apartment by April.

6) Get another cat.

7) Use one of my bridal shower gifts at least once a week. Giggity.

Here’s how I did:

1) I didn’t cook dinner exactly, but I did make breakfast food a little bit after midnight. I’m quite sure that counts. One of our wedding gifts was the griddle I’d been wanting, so I’ve been hooking up bacon, home-made French toast, and perfecctly cooked sunny side up eggs this past week.

2) I went to the movies right at the beginning of the month with my mom to see Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds. Maybe I’ll get a chance to do it again since I have four days off in a row this coming week.

3) I don’t want to talk about exercise. Not yet.

4) I had a happy meal from McDonald’s and they had the world’s smallest box of french fries, that barely counts, right?

5) Now that Project UnPack has help, this may happen.

6) The husband wants to go get a cat this week! Yay!

7) I used some of the kitchen utensils with that griddle this week. Gotta love nonstick!

Resolutions, Week 9

I know I basically took a month off on the resolutions, but it was so I could gain weight and have a hilarious series of photos for my wedding with the hook and eye bursting as my maid of honor strapped me in my dress.

But I’m back now and trying to make good on my resolutions. Back to cooking my husband dinner, back to Project UnPack. Speaking of Project UnPack, that’s mostly just me trying to de-wedding my apartment. The husband has been a huge help with that.

1) I meant to cook dinner, I really did. but neither of us wanted to go to the grocery store. And then I spent a whole evening putting together a fantastic liquor cabinet our bridesmaids bought it. It fits everything: punch bowl, shot glasses, wine, wine glasses, etc. So we admired that while we ate take out barbeque.

2) I went to see Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds with my mom on Thursday. I find myself enjoying his movies more and more as they start to feel more like real rom-coms and less like new age church-y minstrel shows.

3) Yeah, I’m almost back up to the highest weight I’ve ever been. Thank God for stretchy jegging pants because my jeans do not fit.

4) I may have had french fries like 3 times this week. Sigh.

5) Well, I finally put up all our wedding gifts that are already at our house. That’s the first step in our effort to de-wedding our apt.

6) Working on it.

7) I’m wearing one of the gifts right now. Or at least I was when I got home from work. Wink.

Resolutions Week 5

Edit: Feb 6th
I decided that I need to keep myself motivated to actually follow my resolutionsthis year. If you’re feeling motivated, join me! Write a weekly post where you share how resolved you are (or how resolved you wish you were!). To refresh, here are my resolutions:

1) Cook dinner for the fiancé at least once a week. Giggity.

1) I’m quite sure I didn’t cook. Let me just say that with that big ass wedding so close, these Resolutions fell to the backburner.
2) No Feb. movie yet. We’ll prolly handle that during the honeymoon.
3) Not even close.
4) Only at fried foods once. Lot me some buffalo wild wings.
5) The place actually looks worse as it gets taken over by wedding deliveries, clothes, and crafts.
6) Moving on…
7) I used some of the bath products. It was like a spa up in here.

Resolutions Week 4

I decided that I need to keep myself motivated to actually follow my resolutionsthis year. If you’re feeling motivated, join me! Write a weekly post where you share how resolved you are (or how resolved you wish you were!). To refresh, here are my resolutions:

1) Cook dinner for the fiancé at least once a week.    2) Go to some sort of production/media thingee once a month. This can be as extravagant as the opera, or as simple as a movie theater.    3) Exercise an average of 3 times a week. Giggity.

1) I made a delicious and healthy dinner that included poached tilapia, oven-roasted glazed carrots, over-roasted broccoli, and white rice. With a glass of white wine, it was a great dinner. I also made baked macaroni one night. The fiancé said it needed more cheese, but I purposely made it with less cheese so it will be healthier. We’ll never be vegans, or even vegetarians, but we can at least take a meal that has 1500 calories and cut it down to 800, you know?

2) We’re good for January. I wonder if Mission Impossible will still be in theaters in February.

3) Not even close. I just haven’t been feeling motivated. And motivation tips?

4) Other than bacon, I’ve had no fried foods. I believe I will go fried foods crazy for the Super Bowl though. I’ve already decided.

5) I think I can do this. I’ll have motivation to get it done especially if I know we’re staying in Chicago for another year.

6) Still assessing if my crazy-ass cat can even handle the introduction of a kitten to her home.

7) I used some of the cooking gear I got at the shower when I made the fiancé dinner. No giggity.
